A mouse, a deer, a turtle and a crow were very friendly in a forest. A crow lives on top of a tree, a deer lives in the bushes under a tree, a mouse lives in a hole next to it, and a turtle lives in a pond next to a tree. Every evening all the friends used to get together and talk happily. One day the deer went to graze and did not return till evening. Knowing this, the rest of the friends were confused. Will the deer get into any danger? Rat, crow and turtle had suspicion. “Friends! I will fly in the sky and find the trail of the deer,” said the crow.
After a while, the crow found the trail of the deer. A deer is caught in a trap set by a hunter. “Have you come, my friend! I was caught in the hunter’s trap. “You must save me,” pleaded the deer. The crow, daring the deer, flew up in the sky, told the matter, carried the mouse on its back and brought it to the deer. The mouse bit the trap with its fangs and saved the deer. The three of them left for home, and the tortoise met a tortoise on the way.
“Why did you come, my friend? What if something happened to you?” That is a crow. “I came worried about what happened to my friend” said the turtle. “You are a true friend who thinks well of a friend” everyone praised and went home. As they were all walking like that, a hunter met them. Seeing the hunter, the crow flew into the sky, the mouse scurried into the forest, and the deer went into the bushes. But the turtle was standing there unable to go anywhere. Seeing the tortoise, the hunter tied the tortoise to the rope of his bow-stick and took it on his shoulder. “If the deer is saved from danger, the turtle’s friend is in mortal danger?” Rat and crow were sad. Anyway, they thought of a trick to save their friend. According to the plan, the deer fell on the path of the hunter who took a detour in the forest. The crow pretended to peck at it.
“Aha! Nothing is my luck. Even though the deer escaped from the net, another deer was found,” he thought, leaving the turtle on his shoulder aside and walking towards the deer.
Meanwhile, the crow flew away screaming “Cow, Cow”. Hearing the cry of the crow, the deer pretending to be fall, immediately jumped and ran away. In the meantime, the mouse came and bit the ropes of the turtle. Immediately the turtle went into the adjacent pond. The mouse went into the hole. The hunter stood looking at this shock with a frown on his face. After the hunter left, the crow, the deer, the mouse and the tortoise went to their homes together. This is true friendship.
MORAL : A good friend who would risk his life to save a friend in need is better than a friend who uses us when needed.
The Story of Brahmin’s wife
A Brahmin couple lives in a village. Brahmin’s wife is called Sita. One day the Brahmin’s son’s birthday came. He told his wife to make suitable arrangements for the birthday. “There are only pulses in the house. There are no other food items” said Sita. The couple thought of celebrating their birthday by cooking food with pulses only. Sita washed and cleaned the pulses well and dried it in the sun on a fine cloth. Two hens came fighting from somewhere. They ate the pulses, stomped on it and went back.
A Brahmin who was studying there saw this scene and said, “These pulses are not suitable for cooking food. Give them to someone else and ask his wife to bring a clean pulse and prepare food. Sita took the pulse and went to the neighboring houses. A girl took the pulse and agreed to give fresh pulse. Sita gladly accepted the fresh pulse. As Sita took the fresh cleaned pulses, Sita was also happy that she got the cleaned pulses without any effort. Sita’s husband saw this scene and said, “Crazy! Who gave you more pulses than you? Moreover this pulse is very cleansing. It gave her a loss, though. There is some deception in this. Why are you giving this? What a loss for you! Did you ask her?” asked the husband.
“That matter to me, if we wash it with great effort and keep it in the sun, we will not get the cleaned pulses from the pulses. What is the other idea when we get more pulses cleaned without any effort” said Sita. “Madness! She gave you more pulses than what you gave because there was something wrong with the pulses. Can anyone give a hard-cleaned pulses and take an uncleaned pulses? You are deceived,” said the husband. Sita, thinking that she has been cheated, stood there with a frown on her face.
MORAL : We still meet such people in our life. They give us the defective items and they take the good items. So be careful from such people.
Fox and Rams moral story
A shepherd led his sheep out into the pasture to graze. They are grazing comfortably. The shepherd fell asleep under the tree. Meanwhile, two rams quarreled. They take ten steps back, come fast and bump heads. A fox stood by a tree and watched. As the rams were beating like that, the blood gushed out like a stream. But the fox has no desire to settle the dispute between them and make things better.
The fox thought, “Ah! what my luck. When these sheep thrash about, the blood falls on the ground, and I will taste this blood. If they poke like this for a little while, something will fall. I can eat the fallen to my heart’s content and walk away,” thought the fox. Meanwhile, when the rams collided hard, small pieces of meat fell from their heads. The fox was greedy to eat that piece of meat. The fox didn’t notice the rams that rushed ten feet away to attack, and was busy eating a piece of fallen meat. In the meantime, the rams came at full speed and bumped their heads. A jackal was between those heads and the fox was badly beaten. Then the fox came to his senses and went away.
