An ant works hard every day to gather food and eat some and hide some. Seeing this, the grasshopper said, “Why are you working so hard and hiding the food?”. “Winter is coming. Snow will fall profusely. There is no food. So now I am working hard to collect food and preserve it,” said the ant. “Do you have to work so hard now that something will happen? Is it too much?” taunted the grasshopper. The ant ignored its words. She used to work hard every day to collect and hide food for the winter when food was scarce. The grasshopper passed the time dancing and splashing around. Meanwhile, winter has come. Snow fell heavily. The cold has increased tremendously. The ground was covered with snow. Food is nowhere to be found. The ant lived comfortably in its house eating the food it collected. The grasshopper crawled around in the snow for two days for food. Shivered with cold. There was no food. Cold on one side, hunger on the other. The grasshopper thought that he would fall.
Then the grasshopper felt very sorry for underestimating the ant. The grasshopper felt sad that if he had collected and hid some food when the weather was favorable as the ant said, he would not have faced all these difficulties today. Then the grasshopper approached the ant. “Friend! It has been snowing heavily for two days. There is no food anywhere. I am dying of hunger. Please save my life with some food,” pleaded the grasshopper. “While I was working hard in the summer, you spent your time playing and singing comfortably. I don’t need to help you like that,” said the ant, closing the door of his house. Grasshopper suffered a lot. Taking pity on the grasshopper, the ant immediately opened the door and put some food. The ant showed its kindness by feeding the grasshopper till the end of winter. The grasshopper shed tears for the compassion shown by the ant. She accepted her mistake and apologized to the ant.
The grasshopper felt that it was due to lack of foresight that he had to face such hardships. From that day, the grasshopper worked hard and ate some of the food that was collected with foresight and kept some of it hidden and continued to live a comfortable life even in difficult times when food was scarce. Many problems in life can be solved by thinking and acting with foresight. The ant was very happy to see the change in the grasshopper.
Lion and Hamster Short Bedtime stories to read online free PDF
One day the king of the forest, the lion, ate his fill of food and slept under the shade of a tree. The lion slept well. A hamster lives in the adjacent pond. The hamster kept playing on the sleeping lion’s body. The lion got very angry because of his sleep disturbance. That hamster is going to be caught and knocked down. “There are not many, will you play on me, the king of the forest? I will see your end today,” said the lion. “King Lion! If you leave me without knocking me down, I will help you one day and repay the debt,” said the hamster. The lion laughed at those words. “Will you save me, the king of the forest?” she said with a big smile and thought it was the first mistake and left the hamster without knocking it down.
After a few days, the lion got caught in the trap set by the hunters to catch the animals and started crying for protection. The hamster was saddened to see this scene. “Quickly call someone nearby to rescue me from this trap,” said the lion. “King Lion why someone for this little job! I will save” she bit the net with her fangs. The lion got out of the trap and thanked the mouse for saving his life.

Fisherman and fisher Short Bedtime stories to read online free PDF
A fisherman took his net and went fishing. He cast a net many times to catch fish in a big river. However, not a single fish was caught in the net. The fisherman was about to fold up his net to go home in despair. A small fish is stuck in it. He took it out and put it in the basket. Then the fish said, “Fisherman! I have not been born for two weeks. I cannot fill your stomach.” So if I am left back in this river I will have a big body in another three months. Then you can eat me. Your stomach will also be full. So please leave me in the river,” she pleaded. “If I leave you in the river now, what is the belief that after three months you will be caught in my net? So I will not leave you,” said the fisherman, taking the baby fish with him and putting it in a small pond behind his house.
The fisherman thought that this fish would stay here and after three months it would grow up and be eaten, so he threw it into the small water tank available to him with foresight. We understand that “hunters have no compassion for living things.”
