Fox and Tortoise short moral stories in English

There is a banyan tree in a forest, next to which is a small pond. The whole area is beautiful with green trees and pleasant cool weather. A turtle lives in a pond. Every now and then it would go under the tree and bask in the cool air. At that time a fox came to that pond to drink fresh water. The fox saw the tortoise resting under the tree. The fox thought to hunt and eat it and kicked the turtle with its foot. Thinking that someone had harmed him, the turtle immediately folded his head into the pit. The turtle did not move at all. No matter how hard the fox tried, he could not bite the top of the turtle. Then the turtle said “Fox! You can’t eat me no matter how hard you try, my body is too hard. If you soak me in water for an hour, my body will become soft, then you can eat easily.”

The fox, unable to understand the trick of the turtle, kept the turtle in the water on the bank of the pond and held it by its leg. After keeping it for a while, it tried to eat the turtle, but its shell did not soften. “Why is your body still not soft?” The fox asked the turtle. “Fox! You made a small mistake. You have a leg over me. So my body was not properly soaked in water. Place your leg lightly on my body, and soon I will be soaked in water,” said the tortoise.

The fox did as the turtle said, and the turtle jumped into the pond without delay when the fox stepped on him with light weight.

MORAL : The fox wanted to eat the tortoise out of deceit. The tortoise overcame the deception by deception and saved his life from the fox.

Anyway the Serpent decided to live here for a while and eat the frogs. The Serpent crept very slowly and slowly to the bank of the pond. Seeing the Serpent, all the frogs got scared and ran away. “O frog friends! I did not come here with the desire to eat you. I have come to make a plea to your king. So don’t be afraid of me, all of you,” said the Serpent. The king of frogs was surprised by the Serpent’s words. “I am the king of frogs. Say what you want to say,” said the king of Serpents and frogs. “I have come here to satisfy my hunger after telling you about those hardships,” said the Serpent. “What is your problem?” the frog asked the Serpent.

The Serpent was very sad and said, “Last night I was hunting for food. At that time a Brahmin boy stepped on my tail, so I got angry and bit him. My poison entered the boy’s body and he fainted. At that time, his parents, who thought the boy was in danger, sat crying loudly. At that time a man who knew magic saved the boy with his knowledge of magic. After that the boy’s father looked at me and said ‘You poisonous snake who hurt my child! He cursed that you become a vehicle for the frogs that are your food, carry them and live by eating the food that those frogs have given to you. Since then I am not getting any food, I am starving,” said the Serpent pretending to be sad.

“Don’t worry, I will give you food, Serpent King! But you have to do one thing. Along with me, carry my ministers around this pond. All the other frogs will see my greatness,” ordered the frog king. All the frogs watched in amazement as the Serpent carried the frog king on his back. The Serpent carried the frogs for a short distance and stopped pretending to be tired and ate all the frogs.
